A hot air balloon ride, a getaway to Jackson Hole and a beach vacation in Brazil might sound like the ingredients for three very different adventures.

Tonight, they will be among the things drawing attention at one Casper fundraiser.

The Science Zone's Elemental Evening takes place tonight, Friday, August 28, from 5 to 9 p.m., bringing community members together for an evening of food, drinks, auctions, raffles and science activities.

For guests, the evening offers plenty to enjoy. For The Science Zone, it is an important opportunity to raise support for the educational work it carries throughout Wyoming.

The auction will give attendees the chance to bid on experiences and items, including hot air balloon rides, golfing opportunities in Jackson Hole and a vacation stay in Brazil. Along with the bidding, guests can take part in the event's silent auction, raffles and science demonstrations.

There is also a bit of recognition built into the evening. The program includes a Volunteer of the Year presentation and a State of The Zone Address, giving supporters a chance to hear more about the organization's work and what lies ahead.

But perhaps the most interesting part of Elemental Evening happens after the last auction item has been claimed.

The money raised helps The Science Zone continue offering educational opportunities for children and families. Its work includes hands-on STEM and STEAM experiences, with programs extending beyond Casper to communities throughout Wyoming.

The organization also provides scholarships intended to help make its educational programs available to families who might otherwise have difficulty affording them.
