Create a Little Halloween Companion at The NIC’s Mini Treat Bucket Buddies |
The adult Corner Studio workshop invites Casper creatives to spend an evening making a nostalgic Halloween-inspired craft at The Nicolaysen Art Museum. |

Halloween has a way of bringing out a little nostalgia. For some, it means remembering the excitement of choosing a costume, walking through the neighborhood with a bucket in hand, and coming home with a collection of treats. This fall, The Nicolaysen Art Museum is giving adults a chance to revisit some of that seasonal magic through an evening of creativity and community.
Corner Studio: Mini Treat Bucket Buddies takes place Thursday, October 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The NIC in Casper. The adult workshop offers participants an opportunity to slow down, make something with their hands, and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by art and fellow community members.
The project itself draws from a familiar piece of Halloween nostalgia: the classic treat bucket. Participants will create their own mini treat bucket buddy while spending time in a setting that encourages creativity rather than perfection. It is the kind of activity that can turn an ordinary Thursday evening into something a little more memorable.
The workshop is open to adults and costs $25 for museum members and $35 for non-members. The NIC is providing the crafting materials and light refreshments, making it possible for participants to simply show up ready to create. The event is also BYOB, so adults who would like to bring their own beverage are welcome to do so.
There is no requirement to prepay for the workshop, but reservations are necessary because space is limited. Those interested in attending can reserve their spot by calling The NIC at 307-235-5247. Participants are asked to arrive by 5:20 p.m. to check in before the crafting begins.
There is something special about creative events that bring people together without asking for anything more than a little time and imagination. A workshop like this gives friends an opportunity to spend an evening together, gives individuals a chance to meet other creative people in the community, and gives anyone who simply enjoys making things a reason to step away from the usual routine.
The fall theme also makes the timing especially fitting. As Casper moves further into October and Halloween approaches, the museum is creating several opportunities for people of different ages to enjoy the season. The adult Mini Treat Bucket Buddies workshop is one of those opportunities, offering a quieter, grown-up way to enjoy the playful side of fall.
The NIC is also making room for younger creatives with a Teen Craft Night version of Mini Treat Bucket Buddies on Tuesday, October 13, specifically for ages 13 to 17. The separate teen event gives young participants their own opportunity to take part in the seasonal craft and experience the museum as a place where creativity is encouraged at every age.
And for anyone looking for a completely free way to enjoy the museum's fall atmosphere, The NIC will host its Fall Open House on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community event will feature pumpkin carving competitions, free treats, and open gallery access, giving families and visitors another reason to spend part of their weekend at the museum.
Together, the fall programs create something more than a calendar of activities. They give Casper residents opportunities to gather, create, laugh, explore, and make memories together. In a community where people often look for meaningful ways to spend time outside of work and school, these small creative gatherings can become part of what makes a season feel special.
For adults looking to welcome October with something hands-on and a little nostalgic, Mini Treat Bucket Buddies offers an evening to put the everyday routine aside and make room for creativity. Whether participants come with friends or arrive on their own, the goal is simple: enjoy the process, embrace the Halloween spirit, and leave with something they made themselves.
