There are some events that invite you to simply show up. Then there are those that encourage you to leave the ordinary at the door.

This September, The Nicolaysen Art Museum is doing just that with Canvas of Curiosities Soirée and Gala, a two-night celebration bringing art, entertainment, creativity and community together in Casper.

The celebration begins with the Canvas of Curiosities Soirée on Wednesday, September 9, from 6 to 10 p.m. at The NIC, located at 400 E. Collins Drive. The second evening, the Canvas of Curiosities Gala, follows on Friday, September 11.

Inspired by the work of Casper artist Jim Kopp, Canvas of Curiosities is designed around a sense of imagination and discovery. Across the two evenings, the celebration will feature art, entertainment and auctions while supporting The NIC and its work in Casper's creative community.

The Soirée offers a more playful opening to the celebration, bringing together cocktails, live entertainment and art for an evening at the museum. Guests can also take part in a silent art auction throughout the evening, creating an opportunity to experience and bid on original artwork while enjoying the atmosphere.

And there is one particular invitation that sets the tone for the night:

Wear your whimsy.

It is an opportunity for guests to have some fun with the evening and bring their own sense of creativity to the celebration. Rather than making the night about formality, the Soirée leans into curiosity, imagination and the unexpected.

The event is also proudly presented by HilltopBank, as shown on the official event announcement.

For The NIC, Canvas of Curiosities represents more than two nights on the calendar. The celebration brings attention to the role art plays in creating connection and giving a community places where people can gather, experience something new and celebrate the creativity found close to home.

The Gala on September 11 will continue the celebration with its own evening centered on Wyoming's art community, extending the Canvas of Curiosities experience beyond the opening Soirée.

Together, the two nights create an opportunity for Casper to celebrate the artists, supporters and community members who help keep the city's creative landscape moving forward.

But it all begins with a little curiosity.

On September 9, The NIC will open its doors for an evening where art, entertainment and imagination come together under one roof. Whether guests arrive ready to bid on artwork, enjoy the entertainment, dress with a little more creativity than usual, or simply experience something different, the Soirée offers a chance to see The NIC in a distinctly playful light.

Canvas of Curiosities Soirée and Gala takes place September 9 and 11, with the Soirée running Wednesday, September 9, from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Nicolaysen Art Museum, 400 E. Collins Drive, Casper. The Soirée features cocktails, live entertainment, art and a silent art auction throughout the evening.
