Casper’s music scene is getting another chance to take center stage this weekend as Sounds Like September Fest returns to downtown for an afternoon of live music, local talent and community gathering.

The third annual outdoor music festival will take over David Street Station on Saturday, September 12, beginning at 4 p.m. The event is free to attend, giving music lovers an easy reason to head downtown, bring some friends and spend part of the afternoon discovering sounds from Casper and beyond.

One of the festival’s biggest draws is the variety of music on the lineup. Local Casper bands will share the stage with touring acts traveling in from Denver, Salt Lake City and Seattle, creating a lineup that reaches across different corners of the independent music scene.

The music itself will move across a wide range of styles, from more intimate acoustic performances to the intricate and energetic sounds of math rock. That variety gives Sounds Like September Fest a little something different from a traditional outdoor concert, with the afternoon designed around discovering different artists and experiencing the diversity of live music.
