Cites “Broken System” and Commitment to Transparency in Emotional Farewell Statement
Evansville, WY — November 2, 2025
In a public statement posted Saturday on her Facebook page, Machado reflected on her tenure, listing a number of community achievements that occurred during her time in office and on council. Among them: maintaining a balanced town budget, spearheading the 100-Year Town Celebration, advancing the community garden project, securing a new park playground and animal shelter, supporting mental-health services for town employees, and helping establish a code of ethics for elected officials.
Machado also highlighted grants, infrastructure projects, and events that strengthened community life in Evansville, stating that she remained “the same honest, direct, assertive person who truly cares about others” from start to finish.
But her statement took a sharply critical tone toward what she described as a “broken political system” resistant to transparency and reform.
She added that she would not support or remain part of “a system that fosters silence, discrimination, sexism, religious preference, racism, bigotry, harassment, adult bullying, staff lies, stalking, lying, manipulation, or elected officials behaving inappropriately behind the scenes.”
Machado said she intends to continue her work as a social worker, activist, advocate, and business owner, pledging to share her experiences openly.
She closed her statement with a message of encouragement to residents:
Machado’s resignation marks the end of a notably outspoken and community-driven tenure in Evansville town government. The Town Council has not yet announced its next steps in filling the vacancy. |
