Finding something fun to do with young kids doesn't always have to mean planning a big outing or spending a lot of money.

Sometimes, a couple of hours of play is all a family needs.

That is the idea behind Tot Time at the YMCA of Natrona County, a weekly opportunity for young children and their caregivers to get out, play and enjoy some active time together. The program returns Thursday, September 10, giving Casper families another affordable option for filling a morning with something fun.

Tot Time takes place every Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. YMCA members can attend for free, while the cost for nonmembers is $6 per child.

For families watching their spending, that makes it an especially easy option to consider. A parent can bring the kids out for a morning of activity without turning a simple outing into a major expense.

And for little ones, two hours can go a long way.

Tot Time gives children a chance to move, play and interact with other kids while adults stay nearby and supervise. It can also be a welcome change of scenery for parents and caregivers looking for something to do during the week.

The YMCA of Natrona County is located at 1611 Casper Mountain Road and offers a variety of programs centered around youth, families, healthy living and community connection.

For Casper families, the appeal of Tot Time may be its simplicity. There doesn't have to be a big occasion behind the outing. No elaborate itinerary is necessary. Just bring the kids, give them some space to play and enjoy a morning together.

That's exactly what Casper on a Budget is all about: finding the experiences around town that don't require a huge budget to make a good memory.

At $6 per child for nonmembers, Tot Time can be an inexpensive way to give the kids something to look forward to while giving parents another local option to add to their weekly routine.

And sometimes, the best family outings are the ones that are easy.

Tot Time is held Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the YMCA of Natrona County, 1611 Casper Mountain Road, Casper. Admission is free for YMCA members and $6 per child for nonmembers. Adult supervision is required.
