Local silversmith, artist and owner of T. Hawk Studio, Rachel Hawkinson has opening reception for exhibit

A solo exhibition of rings by local silversmith and owner of T. Hawk Studio, Rachel Hawkinson, brought many people from the art community out last night. The exhibit was hosted by the Red Peak Gallery with director Kathleen Willie. The show features many rings that are exquisite and unique, each in their own way.

While some of the rings have Wyoming collected geology integrated into them, others have living flower petals, as well as butterflies, and feathers. The collection tells stories of whimsy, weathered, and all embody a delicate strength.

During her artist talk, Hawkinson explained the correlation between art and science, and how along the journey of creating and learning through mistakes, there is a scientific path that follows organically in the process.

Along with the amazing art, Cory McDaniel and band, as well as special guest, Chad Lore, entertained the crowd with their musical talents.

It was a wonderful evening to celebrate Rachel’s hard work of bringing this show to life.

The exhibit will be on display through the month of February at the Red Peak Gallery, located at 330 S. Center.
