Scare Away Breast Cancer Screening Program Brings Accessible Care to Casper Women |
The community outreach program helps remove financial and scheduling barriers by providing easier access to breast cancer screening services and support. |

For many women, routine healthcare screenings can be delayed because of busy schedules, financial concerns, or uncertainty about available resources. The Scare Away Breast Cancer Screening program in Casper aims to help address those challenges by creating an opportunity for women to access important breast health services in a more convenient and supportive setting.
The specialized clinical outreach program is designed to make breast cancer screening more accessible for members of the community, particularly those who may face barriers to receiving routine care. By bringing screening services and financial assistance resources together, the program encourages women to take an important step toward early detection and preventive healthcare.
The outreach will offer walk-in screenings from 8 a.m. to noon, allowing women to receive services without needing to schedule an appointment in advance. While walk-in screenings will take place during the morning hours, the full diagnostic imaging team will remain active on-site until 3 p.m. MDT to continue processing patients and providing care throughout the afternoon.
In addition to screening services, the program will provide information and assistance for women who may need help covering the cost of care. Social work staff will be available at the registration desks to provide immediate applications for the Wyoming Cancer Program, a state-funded grant that covers the full cost of screening mammograms for eligible low-income, uninsured, or underinsured residents.
Having financial assistance resources available during the clinic allows patients to better understand their options and access support that may otherwise be difficult to find. The program focuses not only on providing screenings but also on helping remove some of the obstacles that can prevent people from seeking preventive care.
The Scare Away Breast Cancer Screening program will take place at 6350 E. 2nd St., Suite 190, Casper, Wyoming, located on the east side of Casper within the medical park corridor.
Breast cancer screenings play an important role in identifying potential health concerns early, when treatment options may be more effective. Through community outreach efforts like this, more women have the opportunity to prioritize their health and receive support in accessing essential medical services.
For those who have delayed a screening because of cost, scheduling challenges, or questions about available assistance, this program provides a chance to learn more, receive care, and take a proactive step toward protecting their health.
