There is something about the arrival of fall that makes a simple Saturday feel a little more special.

The air gets cooler, pumpkins start showing up everywhere, and suddenly a sunny afternoon downtown feels like exactly where you should be. This weekend, Fall Fest at David Street Station is giving Casper another reason to get outside, bring the family and enjoy the season together.

On Saturday, September 26, David Street Station will host Fall Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., turning the downtown gathering space into a colorful afternoon of music, food, shopping and family activities.

For families, there will be plenty happening throughout the event. Kids can climb aboard train rides, burn off some energy at a bouncy house, enjoy games on the lawn and explore the pumpkin patch. Performances from Dance Evolutions will add another bit of entertainment to the afternoon.

Meanwhile, local vendors will fill the space with opportunities to shop, browse and discover something new. Fall Fest gives visitors a chance to support small businesses while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of a community gathering.

And nobody should have to celebrate fall on an empty stomach.

Several food trucks will be serving throughout the event, including WY Knot Pretzel Co., Kuver’s BBQ, I’Scream 4 Wings & Icecream and Mocha Molly’s. Beverages from Backwards Distilling Company will also be available, adding another option for adults enjoying the afternoon downtown.

Live music from A Band Named Sue will provide the soundtrack, giving the event that extra bit of energy that can turn a quick family outing into an afternoon people want to stay for.

What makes events like Fall Fest enjoyable is that there is no right way to experience them.

You can come specifically for the pumpkin patch. You can bring the kids for the train rides. You can meet friends, grab lunch and listen to the music. You can wander through the local vendors or simply spend a couple of hours enjoying the atmosphere.
