There is something special about spending a Saturday surrounded by things that were made, collected, created and dreamed up by real people.

That is exactly what Casper can expect this weekend when Funky Junk: Fall Edition 2026 returns to David Street Station for its 11th annual celebration.

On Saturday, September 19, downtown Casper will become a gathering place for more than 100 small businesses, independent boutiques and regional creatives, bringing together handmade goods, artwork, upcycled pieces and plenty of fall-inspired finds.

And this year, there is even more room to explore.

The festival is expanding beyond its usual footprint to take over the entire block surrounding the plaza, creating a larger setting for shoppers and visitors to wander from booth to booth, discover new makers and enjoy the atmosphere of a downtown block party.

That means Saturday can be approached however you like.

You might arrive searching for something specific and leave with something completely different. You might find a handmade piece that becomes a new favorite, stumble across artwork you cannot stop thinking about or discover a small business you had never encountered before.

That sense of discovery is part of the charm.

Funky Junk brings together people who make their products with their own hands and small businesses that put their personality into what they sell. For shoppers, it creates an opportunity to meet the faces behind the products instead of simply scrolling past them online.

But there is plenty to enjoy even beyond the shopping.

The festival will feature four live music performances, giving the day a lively soundtrack as visitors move throughout the market. Food trucks will also be part of the celebration, making it easy to turn a quick shopping trip into a few hours downtown.

For those looking for a fall drink, The Drinkery by Cory will also be part of the event with specialty seasonal cocktails and grab-and-go treats.

The result is less like a traditional shopping event and more like a day spent enjoying Casper itself.

Come for the handmade goods. Stay for the music. Grab something to eat. Talk with a vendor. Find something unexpected. Bring a friend and take your time exploring the expanded festival area.

Most importantly, events like Funky Junk give local and regional creators a chance to put their work directly in front of the community. Every purchase, conversation and visit can help a small business continue creating, growing and showing up for the next event.

That is what makes a local market like this feel different.

It is not only about what you take home. It is also about the people you meet, the businesses you discover and the reminder that there is a lot of creativity happening right here in the region.

So, grab your shopping crew, bring your curiosity and leave a little room in the trunk.

You never know what you might find.

At Casper Buzz, we're always looking for the local stories, creative projects, community activities, and people that give Casper its character.
