Sometimes, a little creativity is all it takes to make something ordinary feel special.

The Natrona County Library is inviting local makers to explore the creative side of technology with Glowforge: Wooden Mushroom Shelf Sitter, a hands-on project centered around creating a whimsical wooden piece that can add a little personality to a shelf, desk or cozy corner at home.

The project is part of the library’s Creation Station, where community members can explore digital fabrication and other creative tools while learning what is possible with modern makerspace technology.

Rather than simply watching a demonstration, participants get to experience the process of turning a digital design into something tangible. A Glowforge can cut and engrave materials with precision, opening the door to projects that might otherwise require specialized equipment.

For this workshop, the finished project has a particularly playful feel.
