Sometimes, creativity begins with something as simple as a handful of clay and the freedom to see what it can become.

ART321 is inviting members of the Casper community to explore the art of sculpting through its Intro to Sculpting class, a hands-on workshop designed to help participants discover the fundamentals of working with clay in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Led by local artist and instructor Toby Wayne Larson, also known as MudSlinger, the class introduces participants to hand-building and sculpting techniques while encouraging them to experiment with texture, shape, character and personal expression.

Whether someone is picking up clay for the first time or looking to explore something beyond the pottery wheel, the workshop offers an opportunity to learn new skills while creating original pieces along the way.

Sculpting can be both a creative challenge and a chance to slow down. Working with clay invites participants to focus on the process, try new ideas and discover that the most meaningful creations do not always begin with a perfect plan.

ART321’s sculpting class is held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Casper. The program continues weekly, with a special glazing session offered on the final Wednesday of each month for participants who want to add finishing touches to pieces created during class.
