Josh Allen, star quarterback and reigning NFL MVP, will have his No. 17 jersey officially retired by the University of Wyoming on November 22, 2025, during halftime at War Memorial Stadium as the Cowboys take on Nevada.
This moment marks the first jersey retirement in school history, highlighting Allen’s remarkable impact on Wyoming football.
From 2015 to 2017, Allen led the team to back-to-back eight-win seasons and two bowl games, amassing over 5,000 passing yards, nearly 800 rushing yards, and 57 total touchdowns.
He was named second-team All-Mountain West in 2016, and later became Wyoming’s highest-ever NFL Draft pick, going seventh overall to the Buffalo Bills in 2018.
With an MVP award and Pro Bowl selections, Allen’s legacy inspires fans and underscores his enduring Wyoming roots. Read More... |

CASPER, Wyo. — The highly anticipated Barnes & Noble will officially open in early 2026 at the expanding Blackmore Marketplace Shopping Center on Casper’s east side.
Set for an April debut, the 13,000-square-foot store will showcase the brand’s newest design and offer a distinctive mix of books, toys, games, gifts, and vinyl records.
This upcoming location marks just the second Barnes & Noble in the state, joining the Cheyenne store as the only other Wyoming outpost.
New arrivals at Blackmore Marketplace will also include Five Below and Burlington Stores, while Dick’s Sporting Goods is planned for a separate 50,000-square-foot space nearby.
The retail expansion is driven by Colorado-based Flower & Stone, which has been cultivating Casper’s commercial growth since 2016.
Residents can expect a fresh retail experience, with openings beginning by June 2026. Read More... |
Joke Of The Day |
Why did the ghost go to Casper, Wyoming? Because he heard it was a BOO-tiful place to haunt! |
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is urging hunters to be vigilant about fire safety as hunting season begins amid unusually dry, hot conditions.
Due to heightened wildfire risks, fire bans are now active on all Commission-owned lands in Sublette, Teton, and Lincoln counties, covering 18 Wildlife Habitat Management Areas and 43 Public Access Areas.
All campfires, charcoal grills, and wood stoves are strictly prohibited, and smoking is only allowed in controlled areas.
Lighting fireworks remains banned at all times.
Hunters are also encouraged to keep out of active burn areas for their own safety and that of emergency crews.
Those found violating the fire bans or causing wildfires could face fines up to $5,000, possible jail time, and liability for fire suppression costs.
Following these rules will help safeguard Wyoming’s wildlife and keep the hunting season safe and accessible. Read More... |
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department urges residents to help protect local outdoor access areas, which face rising threats from vandalism and irresponsible use.
Over 200 Public Access Areas and nearly 50 Wildlife Habitat Management Areas are at risk, crucial for hunting, fishing, and enjoying wildlife.
Destructive acts—like shooting signs—have grown common, making information unreadable and draining funds meant for conservation.
Annual repairs cost the department an estimated $60,000 to $70,000.
The Rock Springs Grazing Association joined Access Yes in 2022, but even increased enforcement hasn’t stopped misuse on its vast 25,000-acre property.
Local youth, such as BSA Troop #4, have stepped up to clean litter and debris, yet repeated vandalism continues.
If this damage persists, beloved outdoor spaces may be closed to the public.
Residents are encouraged to report problems to local authorities or the Stop Poaching Hotline at 1-877-WGFD-TIP. Read More... |
